Many people wonder how does poverty still exist in the U.S? There are thousands of answers that can answer that one question. However, there has to be a main reason that maintains this destitution. Not only because of certain cases that continue a certain person or family to remain at this level, but also because of the attitude human beings preserve. Poverty is defined as the state of being utterly poor. To the point that at the end of each month it’s arduous to pay the requirements to live in America. Water, gas, electricity bills are examples of the necessities one needs to live in this country. Single mothers who have to work with a great deal of endurance to sustain their children on their own. Low-wage jobs that pay minimum wage to numerous amount of people. As well as gender and race that prevents those human beings from winning a nice amount of money due to those factors.
Eldeman thinks that enough is enough. In order to prosper and thrive people must change their attitude. They must fight for their interest, and go out there to speak for themselves. The rich continue to get rich and leave the poor to remain poor. Eldeman believes that the change in attitude must come before the country will be able to decrease the numbers of poor in America.
As a citizen and resident of the United States, I agree with Peter Eldeman. It is unfair that race and gender determines the amount of money a person gets paid. It shouldn’t be a factor that decides your paycheck, yet the people in this country sit back and allow this to continue. Furthermore, women work as hard as men do, yet they want to make a huge difference. A factor like that is going against morals and going against inequality. America is supposed to be a country of equality, however they’re still in this unfair
