I first started working with the youth in middle school as a volunteer at neighboring elementary schools. From reading to an occasional game of kick ball, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the kids. Through this experience, I found my passion for the youth. As I transitioned into high school, I began to work with my previous middle school. The biggest issue I discovered was students lack of preparedness to enter the world as a young adult. The students did not understand how to carry themselves as leaders in school, work, and the community. I aimed to fill these gaps through the creation of the Blueprint Initiative. Professionalism is being able to uphold the standards of an organization and being able to act appropriately in any situation that may occur.

What about our program, specifically, makes you interested in working for C5?

Other than working in an environment with the youth, the leadership aspect of C5 draws me towards this organization. I witnessed many friends C5 program, and they shared their experience with me and I became interested. That was, of course, a couple of years ago, but what stuck with me was that they told me about how much they enjoyed their teamwork and team building activities. I couldn't help but want to be apart of that. And now that I am older I can be the leader of any team building activity and change a child's life forever.

If you could be any kitchen utensil, what would it be, and why?

If I could be a kitchen utensil, I would be a strainer. A strainer is mostly used to strain liquids away from a substance; however, it is also used to sift fine ingredients away. My passion in life is to inspire kids that have the potential to be great, but lack the support and guidance. As I come in contact with the youth, it is my goal to shape them into the best person possible, the same way my teachers and mentors
