The definition of property crime in The National Crime Victimization Survey has describe it as,” burglary, motor vehicle theft, and theft. This category includes both attempted and completed crimes”(). Property crime is one the most crime that is reported. Property crimes is ten times more prevalent than violent crime. It seem population density is to deter crime but that is not truly true because it seem that high density it offer a perfect oppuorunity for property crime . Property crime is about 1/3 out of all crimes that occur. Property crimes has include the follow crimes thefts, larceny, burglary, robbery,sort lifting, arson and vandalism. The statistic has shown that property crime have fell major about 32 percent in a ten year period. Property crime rate , “of 135 victimizations per 1,000 households in 2008 was lower than the rate of 147 per 1,000 households in 2007” and it was 248 attempted or completed property crimes per 1,000U.S. households during 1997. The crime Larceny/Theft are staggering because it is more than seven million report this crime happen in a year period. This crime Larceny /Theft make up about sixty percent of the crime in all reported crimes. Larceny take place in rural area and , “the evidence show a higher level of social captain has associated with a lower level which cause rural property crime rates” (Deller, S., & Deller, M.,2012).
