Biography of the great leader and founder of Pakistan “the Quaid-e-Azam”
Synopsis
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born as Mahomedali Jinnahbai on December 25, 1876, in Karachi. He was a successful lawyer and politician. In the year 1913, he joined the All India Muslim league and served as a leader in the Muslim league till Pakistan came into existence on August 14, 1947. He was the first governor general of his newly born country Pakistan. He is popularly known as “Quaid-e-Azam” meaning “the great leader” and “Baba-e-Qoum” meaning “ the father of the nation” in Pakistan. He died after a severe illness on September 11, 1948, and was buried in Karachi.

He asked the Muslims to struggle for the establishment of a separate homeland where Muslims could live freely and lead their lives according to Islamic beliefs.
As a result of his untiring efforts he defeated the Hindus as well as the English and at last Pakistan came into existence on August 14, 1947.
Governor General
Quaid-e-Azam became the first governor general of Pakistan. He worked day and night for building up the largest Muslim state. He was a hardworking man and did not like to waste time.
He even delayed his meal for the sake of work. He was a man of firm determination and rare qualities.
He was always prepared to face the hard facts of reality. There was no place for sentiments in his life.
His decisions were always based on facts and showed a great power of judgement. He had never compromised on his principles.
Illness & Death
From the 1930s, Jinnah suffered from tuberculosis; only his sister and a few others close to him were aware of his condition.
After independence, Quaid-e-Azam became very ill as he worked tirelessly. His motto is work, work and work. He remained alive for 13 months, and at last this great leader and hardworking man passed away on September 11, 1948, at the age of 71.
