Introduction Over the past century the United States has made some effort in ensuring equal treatment under the law. However there is one major area that has gotten very little change when it comes to fair justice for all. Racial inequality in the criminal justice often gets ignored because it does not affect most people. Racial disparities affect both innocent and guilty minorities. Although African Americans have fought against racial inequality during the civil rights era, yet decades later a broken criminal-justice system has proven that we still have a long way to go in achieving racial equality. While black males are often looked down upon in society; their presence often leads to suspicion and an unease mind by most of society. “ Black men are three times more likely to be searched during a traffic stop than white men.” Since black men and often treated as criminals they are more likely to be harassed by law enforcement. Although Jim Crow that guaranteed blacks could travel, use public restrooms and live freely, laws where abolished, today a black male can still expect to be stopped and frisked more than white men. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, “one in three black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetime.” This is a scary statistic, because while black men are being locked up for every reason under the sun. The incarceration rate of white men is, 1 in every 106 white men can expect to go to jail in their lifetime. This is the unfortunate reality for all men of color, however; the justice system still continues to sweep this issue under the rug. Like men of color, black women are often disproportionately
