First thing first, has anyone tried to open “MyEducationalKit.com”. I have attempted but was not successful. If anyone can access this information, please let me know. -My very first comment came on the first page of Chapter 4, page 105. I reflected upon the millions of immigrants who came to the United States for a multitude of reasons. Many of these immigrants were ESLs. Their primary languages varied as much as the countries in which they have arrived. These refugees did not enroll in English classes; they learned to survive. It is very parallel to today's society. -The “Snapshot of the Classroom Practice 1.1” on page 111 is compatible with the idea of “Snapping Photos” (Buhrow & Garcia2006). I related to the quadrant card used on page 111. I feel these two techniques can be combined and modified in a variety of ways. I found the extended descriptive factors utilized in the quadrant cards incorporate additional student ownership. I believe an increase in student ownership will improve student achievement.
- Center Point High School is hosting a “Newcomer Program”. The program occurred within the last few weeks. The interesting thing is that most people, including me, are unaware of their objectives, when they will attend our school, and what activities they attend during the school day. I inquired about many of my questions, but no one seemed to have any information about the program. I believe the “newcomers” attend from all high schools throughout Jefferson County Board of Education. I know that school buses transport the students to our school.
