Book Review Do you like fast paced book that has a ton of action. Then The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is the book for you. It has the right balance of action and calm moments.
In The Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12. The districts take place in a earth like place. There are 12 districts and they each have a role. 12 is very poor and have poor working condition. Katniss has to struggle to live everyday to survive. This is a science fiction.
Once a year every district picks 2 people from each district to fight to the death. The government does this to put fear in the people and deter them from rebelling. This does not happen often in her district, but in other districts they volunteer because they trained their whole life for that.
Katniss gets picked with Peeta Mellark who was the bakers son. They get on a train and go to district 1. They get to have wat district 1 has every day. There was all the food in the world for them to eat. When they got to the district they got to live in a fancy hotel.
They train most of the day trying to impress sponsors. Sponsors will give you stuff when you need it. Before they get sent to the real thing. They have to show what they are made of. They get rated and this gives them a lot of sponsors. Katniss got the highest of the people.
Katniss was told not to go to the middle where there are a lot of weapons. The district 1 and 2 kids knew that she was a treat, so they teamed up and went looking for her. She fought everyone to survive. This one girl from district 11 helped her when she was hurt. Her name was Rue, and she reminded Katniss of her sister. Katniss takes care of her until someone kills Rue. The government changed a rule where that 2 could win if they are from the same district. Katniss meet up with Peeta and they won fighting
