Recommended: Importance of written communication

For the future students of com 102 there is a lot you will learn and take away from this course. I will share my experience and everything i've taken away from this class. This class has made me realize and learn about myself as a writer and a student. I hope some of my realizations and lessons will help help the future students of com 102.
After taking this class i've realized that I procrastinate a lot and it affects my work in the class. Procrastination has not allowed me to create or finish my work to the best of my ability. With that is means it the assignment was started last minute and done sloppy also probably not correctly either. For example our first writing assignment in this class was assigned and being me waited till the night …show more content…

From my experience I was able to learn more on how to connect different authors opinions and their ideas together. I was able to use that throughout my assignments and become better at making those connections. We also did a activity in class were we had to make connections between different movies so we could have an idea on how to do it with authors and their opinions. I was also able to work on writing to a specific audience. I know i was not very good at changing my writing or tone to fit a certain audience. It was kind of difficult at first but for every assignment we had to have an audience I got the hang of it after a while. For example or research letter assignment had to address a certain audience of your choosing. And you had to as if you were exhaling your ideas and opinions to them. They audience had to connect to the topic in some way in order for it to make sense. From there I was able to learn how to make sure my readers could understand my purpose of my topic. And why I picked the audience that I did to explain my topic. Another helpful skill I was able to learn in com 102 to was being able to come up or create an argument with any texts. Even when I don’t have any interest in the topic I am now able to think of all the possible angles. And with that able to come up with a strong argument that I can back up.
