Denita Wells. I believe that the essential characteristics of terrorism, be it foreign or domestic, is the fact that both want to make extreme statements. I believe that all terrorists share the thirst of fame. Not in the sense of conventional fame but in a political sense. Lets look at the 9/11 terrorist.

A major element of greater jihad is self-restraint, which is evidenced in many Muslim practices, such as Sawm (fasting), specifically during the month of Ramadan, the intention being to teach Muslims to be willful and aware. These are remarkably admirable qualities, and earned Muslims the respect of other people. Additionally, aspects of greater jihad include being self sufficient and seeking out an education, regardless of gender, something that is not readily available to all other civilizations- converting to Islam would make it possible for them too to live by greater jihad.

On May 20th 2017 A white male University of Maryland student fatally stabbed Richard Wilbur Collins III, a black Army Lieutenant and student. Lieutenant Collins was just three (3) days shy of his graduation from Bowie State University. This murder was motivated by racist sentiments and was treated as an act of domestic terrorism after authorities reviewed the murderers phone and social media activity. Another recent incident was that of a 47-year-old man ramming a van into a crowd near a London mosque.
Child Soldiers Deserve to be granted with amnesty as long as they don’t act violent. These underaged soliders are forced to act violent. They are also drugged, leaving them no choice but to do what they are told. On the other hand, many argue that they shouldn’t be given amnesty. They say the child solider do have a choice between saving themselves or others, but in kids are too young to expect themselves to save others instead of themselves.

The Ku Klux clan thought that if they employed violence, it would push back Reconstruction and its enfranchisement of African Americans. They focused their time on targeting African Americans more so than any other group, though they also targeted republicans.
The article of “Terrorism and Torture” by MSNBC gives a description of a poll that gives the opinion of different countries on the topic of terrorist torture. The opinion of countries like the United States, Mexico and Canada on this topic are divided between allowing torture to be used as a method and not allowing it to be used. In other countries, like Britain, France and South Korea they approve of using torture in rare occasions. While countries like Spain and Italy oppose using torture under any means of circumstances. In my opinion, the method of using torture on a person to save many people from harm especially in rare occasions should be allowed.
Although, many Muslims say that jihad does not reflect the true image of Islam, they cannot deny that the Quran does encourage and motivate its people to take up arms against “infidels” and non-believers. That would include everyone that is not Muslim. Jihad could also mean spiritual warfare, however, actual warfare in Islam is considered a highly spiritual act. At time of war, this brought the soldiers a comfort of conscience. As long as they killed someone that was not Muslim or if they were killed in battle, they would be automatically granted entrance to heaven.
