During the pilot episode we are introduced to the main characters, their role they play in the Cloud 9 Store and the setting. The episode begins with one of the floor staff, selling an engagement ring to a customer, unaware of what this customer is planning to ask another employee in Cloud 9 to marry him. Dina Fox (Lauren Ash), assistant manager, is interviewing Jonah Simms (Ben Feldman), a possible new employee. Dina takes a personal interest in Jonah and proceeds to ask him a series of inappropriate questions before hiring him. Jonah’s first task as a new employee is to reprice the electronic items in the store, but he is not taught how to use the repricing machine and incorrectly reprices the items.
