A 100-year old skeleton was given a funeral after being discovered in school. This skeleton was used to teach anatomy to students at Haydock School in the UK. A lab technician decided to test a sample of the skeleton and discovered it was the remains of a human being. The test resulted to be an Asian man who died in the 1900s ages between 17-30. In the UK, once you find a dead body you must supply the person with an appropriate funeral. Near by funeral homes heard of the discovery and provided the burial for free. The class who discovered the remains of the man attended his funeral as mourners. This could of attracted man schools since it was used to teach students about anatomy. It was ethical to respect the dead and to let his remains rest in peace.
• Pathos- “You know those skeletons that schools use to teach kids about anatomy? For 50 years, teachers and staff at one school had no idea that theirs used to belong to a real person.” – The skeleton has been used to teach about anatomy. The students’ emotions might of varied since there was a dead body in the school. Some students might have been sad , scared, or worried since they had a real skeleton in their school.
• Logos- “And legally, when you discover a dead body, even a 100-year-old one, you are obligated to give it a proper funeral.”- It was logical that they needed to bury the dead body. Even though, it is a legal obligation to bury a dead body, the school might of not kept the remains. Since they are a Christian school it was right for them to let his remains rest in peace
