The article I chose was “Islamophobia in France Affects Muslim Job Applicants: Study” by Karla Dieseldorff. Throughout history three faiths have predominantly ruled the world through the centuries: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Despite the common lineage of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam both share the tribulations of the practicing people of each faith are divergent. As Muslims migrated to new countries, the specific trials they faced varied based on location. Regardless of the obstacles the Muslim population faced, Islam had, and continues to have, a very significant impact on Europe. Consequently, delving into the subject of Islam in Europe is a very controversial topic. The European- Islamic influence started as early as the eighteenth century when British merchants would sell and trade goods with India. According to Peters and Esposito’s book, The Children of Abraham: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Muslims have traded their faith and identity for the chance to assimilate and integrate into the European culture they have become a part of.1 Nevertheless, Muslims have still found a difficult to establish their place in society regardless of the sacrifices they make.
