The Europeans were the ones to conquer most of the planet as they had many advantages in numerous ways. One advantage was farming. They raised domestic cattle and crops, which helped provide food, muscle power, and immunity to deadly diseases. When civilizations, such as the Incans came in contact with these foreign diseases, it caused epidemics and killed the majority of the population. Another advantage they had was that they were an advanced civilization. They were much more productive in farming than the other civilizations they conquered. They also discovered the metal steel. Steel is made primarily of the element carbon, which makes it a very strong and durable metal. It made their weapons, such as swords, much stronger and sharper as well. They also created guns, which helped them conquer civilizations. Civilizations such as the Incans still made their weapons out of bronze. Bronze is weaker, and is far more brittle than steel. When the Europeans conquered land geographically similar to theirs, such as modern South Africa, they thrived. They did not thrive in other geographical climates, such as tropical. When the Europeans reached the middle of Africa, they were set back as the land was different, and they were exposed to diseases only found in tropical locations, which were foreign to the Europeans. If the land was geographically similar, they thrived, but if it was different, then they were set back. Europeans were technologically advanced.
