In 1760, when George III became the King of England, his one mission was to get rid of the war debt with the help of the colonists. (137) This angered the colonists because they felt as if their rights have been taken away from them. This caused the colonial men and women to come together and fight for their rights. They formed the Sons and Daughters of Liberty groups, in order to get their rights back.
Soon after the Seven Years’ War, the British and the colonists learned that victory came with a rather expensive price (Kennedy, Cohen, & Bailey, 2010). Great Britain tightened its grip on the colonies in North America, expecting colonists to pay for their financial struggles. In order to make colonists pay for the war, Great Britain reminded the North American colonies who had authority by controlling the colonists to submit to various ordinances ratified by British Parliament. This action only showed that arrogance leads to rebellion socially, economically, and politically. Socially, a lack of communication between Great Britain and the North American colonies was to blame for the Revolutionary War.
After the Treaty of Paris in 1763, following the French and Indian war, American colonists began to perceive the actions of the British as an interference to their rights. Great Britain had begun to impose taxes on common goods in colonial America and therefore ended salutary neglect, leaving the colonies to eventually uprise into the American Revolution during 1765 through 1783. Foremost, the American Revolution was mainly caused by social and political reasons to a significant extent, although some economic reasons added sparks to the revolutionary flames, because of the restrictive british imperial control, the colonial need for self-governance and the great influence of the Enlightenment Era. The French and Indian War (also known as the “Seven-year War”) was a turning point for the colonists as they realized their true purpose coming to America, creating their own colony. After the Seven Year War, the colonists not only faced social challenges, but political and economic challenges as well. As a result, the colonists developed a negative relationship toward the “Crown” causing them to progressively become independent and purse their own destiny. After this crucial victory, Britain gained new territory from the French and was faced with additional challenges.

To a considerable extent, the American Revolution came to be due to political and economic reasons.
The Revolutionary War caused lots of violence on both sides; the colonies and the British. Both sides lost many lives, and both sides won and lost many battles. The British army had trained soldiers that were more numerous and experienced than the American Minutemen. The unity of the American people was a defined by everybody together in a democracy, instead of the British monarchy that people were suppressed by, and left to join America for.

Before I really knew anything about the American Revolution, I believed that there was only one overarching reason that sparked the American Revolution; colonists just decided one day to become independent. As I have learned more about the Revolution, I discovered I was completely wrong. There are, in fact, two main viewpoints that commenced the Revolution: British loyalists and conservatives against the radicals. The loyalist and more conservative side was supportive of any of the rules, laws, taxes, or anything of that sort that British Parliament or monarchy put in place. In contrast, the radical’s craved for independence from the British government since they deemed their laws as useless and confining.

The state of the American Colonies before the events that led to the revolution were that of profit and expansion. Whilst the British Empire was entrenched in a brutal and costly war with France, American markets and trade were flourishing, as well as investiture and population growth. The key events and ideas that drove the American colonists to revolution began in the aftermath of the French and Indian wars that ended in February 10, 1763, leaving the British Empire with a massive war debt. This debt became the basis on which Britain enforced various taxes and policies which led to a series of major events, a decaying relationship between the colonies and Britain and the development of revolutionary thought in Colonial America. ‘In part the deterioration of relations between Britain and her American colonies - which eventually led to the War of Independence - stemmed from a logical British attempt to make the colonies contribute more to the cost of their own defence.
What Caused the American Revolution The American Revolution was a battle for leadership in the American colonies. At the time, England controlled nearly all aspects, mostly the political and economic, of the colonial lives. Their purpose was to strengthen England. The colonies wanted the freedom from all of the control because they were doing fine without England.
There were many key events and people that led up to the American Revolution. Two of them being the The Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. These events are very important to history because these were the first of many events that helped with the establishment of independence from Britain. The colonist left their country and sailed across the oceans in hopes of starting a new life in a new world. However, the British government didn't give them that opportunity by controlling them.
The American Revolution (1700-1790) was a historical event in time, where the Thirteen Colonies that became the United States of America, gained independence from the British Empire. Many historians would agree that the Revolution was caused by events and the growing differences between the colonists and England. The cause of the American Revolution could be summarized in the saying ‘liberty vs. tyranny’. In this period, the Colonies protested against the British Empire and entered into the American Revolutionary War, also known as the American War of Independence.
