In this chapter Nathan explains what questions she wish to answer and explains what information she’ll include from her research and what she’ll be leaving out. Nathan tells about the orientation, "Welcome Week," her first few weeks in college, and life in the dorms. Frederick Banting is a name that unfortunately like so many, has became less familiar with the average Canadian as the years go by. It is because of this that so many do not see the significance with his name as opposed to other well known Canadians today. Familiarity aside, Frederick Banting is decisively, one of the most important Canadians to have ever walked the earth potentially having an impact on the entire human species up to present day. Sir Frederick Grant Banting was born on November 14th, 1891 in Alliston, a small settlement in the town of Tecumseth approximately 60 kilometers north of Toronto. Frederick grew up in a large family of seven and remained a fairly regular boyhood on his family farm.
For my second book analysis I read the book Everyday by David Levithan. It has 384 pages and it took me exactly one week to finish it. This was not really a book to learn anything and it did not particularly have a moral. It was just a book to entertain and tell a story. It somewhat teaches you, however, to be grateful for the life you have and that you can always look forward to tomorrow.
The mind/body problem is a common topic in philosophy of the mind with many different theories attempting to answer a fundamental question about the relationship between the mind and the body. The philosopher that brought this ancient problem to modern philosophy was René Descartes. Throughout the vast number of writings that we have of Descartes’, he talks about many different philosophical questions and the answers that he has for them. Included in his works are many entries that have to do with the mind/body problem.

The modern term of consciousness generally is used to refer an individual’s awareness of his or her own thoughts, including sensations, feelings and memories. However, if you focus your thoughts on your consciousness, you soon become aware that your conscious experience are constantly changing. While reading this essay, for example, you may be reminded of experiences or present discomforts that interrupts your concentration; plans for the future will spontaneously pop to mind. Thinking about your conscious experiences makes you realize just how much you thoughts are changing, and yet they seem to come together. Therefore, consciousness affect human nature and vice versa.
They say that mental processes are the same thing as brain processes. This gives us a better explanatory role with causation regarding mental states. According to the identity theory, the “Mind” and the “Brain” refer to one object (the physical brain). (Anthony Oyowe, personal
Since the beginning of philosophy, the argument of the mind-body problem has been constantly debated. The mind-body problem asks what the connection is between the mind and the body. Many philosophers have come up with their own theories to answer this predicament but each theory that philosophers have come up with has some indication of a flaw. The mind-body problem is a philosophical issue that inquires the relationship among the mental and physical properties. The fundamental point regarding the mind-body problem considers whether perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and other mental features are an extension of physical features or if they remain entirely independent of the physical world.
The consciousness of humans is often described as a river, with turbulent change and rapids all while flowing smoothly. Each day humans go through a series of changes that are dependent on an individual’s condition, health, wellness of mind, diet, and physical energy.

INTRODUCTION Perception refers to the process of identifying and understanding sensory stimuli.
