Evidence of Evolution
Evolution is the change of the organisms over time with small or drastic change. These changes can affect an organism’s style of living. There are multiple pieces of evidence to find out if evolution is occurring. Some piece of proof are fossils, embryology, comparative anatomy, and molecular biology.
One of the pieces of evidence that evolution exists is the history behind a fossil. According to Page 1 of the packet, the picture shows the major differences and similarities between the ancestor of the modern-day horse, Dawn Horse, and the modern horse. Some of the similarities are all the horse's skulls were flat toothed and had a constant bone of the nose. The biggest changes were the size of the skull it grew from the …show more content…

Embryology is the study of embryos and their development. As in Part 2 on page 2 in the packet, “Organisms that are closely related also have physical similarities before they are even born!” When an organism is first born, their embryo is almost identical to other organisms. Let’s say you were to look at an embryo of a human and a rabbit when first born they look very similar almost identical. Most related organisms have the same internal organs and a long tail-like physical feature when just born. When the animals become much older, they are more developed. Some animals will grow new internal organs to use in their environment and adapt to survive. However, some embryo doesn't form their vital organs until they are much older. Shortly before birth, almost all organisms get their distinct factors. For example, the rabbit’s embryo doesn’t start forming their ears or tail until shortly before their born as shown on page 3 of the packet. All embryos start off as small round-headed embryos. Embryology is just one of the many pieces of evidence towards the occurrence of …show more content…

Comparative anatomy is the study of the comparisons of different species anatomy. According to the image on page 4 of the packet when comparing “... the skeletal structure of the front limbs of 6 animals: human, crocodile, whale, cat, bird and bat.” Each and every limb of any animal has a humerus, carpals, metacarpals, ulna, radius, and phalanges. Each animal has a similar set of bones just in different areas depending on their usual activities on the daily. For example, humans use their phalanges for typing, grabbing, and other actions, while whales use their phalanges to guide water behind them to swim in different directions. All organisms have vestigial structures that show we have parts of that are currently useless, but back with our ancestors, they required them to survive in their environments. For example, us humans don’t need our wisdom teeth because we don’t have to have the extra set of teeth, however, with our ancestor they needed them for some much different foods that were harder to eat. Some people nowadays are even born without wisdom teeth because we don’t need them for survive anymore. Comparative anatomy is the second to last form of evidence to prove that evolution
