This includes their recent, and major, Time Warner deal. AT&T itself was founded in 1983, seventeen years before Verizon ("AT&T's History"). In 1889, AT&T gained the belongings of its parent company, American Bell Telephone, and was in charge of Bell companies on a nationwide scale ("Evolution of the SBC"). Fast forward to 1939, and AT&T took its telephone service knowledge and “operates the country's first example of television” ("Evolution of the SBC"). For the first time in 1998, AT&T’s network data traffic outpaced their voice traffic ("Evolution of the SBC"). Today AT&T, much like Verizon, focuses on their innovation throughout the entire company ("AT&T's History"). Many of the steps they are taking today are nearly identical to Verizon.
