Feminists are demonizing men to sexual predators and using popular culture as ground zero for their activism campaigns in order show females as either a victim or the hero who empowered herself as a woman. Statistics is what draws in more women to join the campaign for feminism. Many studies released promoting feminism have resulted in crisis centers, new laws, and advanced research. On the ladder they have also promoted songs, artwork, television shows, and movies that exhibit some overwhelming statistics in a negative way. What if the statistics were altered to appear worse in order for feminism to appeal to women? In many cases this actually occurs. Despite the extraordinary things that have occurred because of these studies, they may have happened under false pretenses. One of the most common statistics that a feminist uses on their campaign is the rape statistic; one in every four women has been raped. This statistic has evolved rapidly. When the study was first conducted, it was found that, one in four women had experienced either rape or attempted rape. When another feminist looked at these findings, they released that, in one in four cases, sex is against your will. Thus completely obliterating the attempted rape, which occurred at 12.1 percent while rape was at 15.4 percent. (Muehlenhard, 144). However men do not get any of these privileges. Feminism is about equality for men and women, so why is this one of the main campaign focuses for the western feminist? This has occurred because feminism sets unrealistic goals, and now the focus has shifted towards something simply for revenge against man. Teenage girls believe they have the right to wear any type of clothing they want to school and not be punished. Their argument is that what the boys should be able to control themselves around girls who dress inappropriately; an argument that just blames the boys for their own violations. Young women think that as a female who went to school they should have the benefits in their workplace. These feminists specifically want the benefits for women, because men have had more opportunities simply because they are a man and that is just unfair. In this situation the woman has done just the same of what men before have done, encouraging women to have more opportunity. Middle-Aged women imagine that since they have been working for ten years that they have the power to manage everyone else. Here women want a higher position than men, simply because they are women.
