Today we sit here and type papers on our computers never thinking about how we are able to do what we can today. We never think of how it all started or how it was to copy papers, book, newspapers all by hand. What started it all was the printing press made by Johannes Gutenberg, In 1440. “Gutenberg was a goldsmith, metallurgist and stone cutter living in Germany”(Lobey). He was smart enough to create the press that made it easier on everyone. The printing Press is a device used to help cook other books. More people started writing because they knew they could get the information out quickly and to different people. The print press gave people the ability to copy books faster and with less mistakes. Copying books was real trouble back then. They paid people to copy books by hand word for word. Since it took so long to do most book were religious and were only available to the rich. With the invention of the printing press books were mad a lot faster and more than just religious books started to be made.(Lobey)By the 1600's, this process would lead to the Scientific Revolution of the Enlightenment, which would radically alter how Europeans viewed the world and universe.
