Delia also goes on about how mentally taxing it is for a girl her age to experience such things and the way she was treated, because of the way she acted. Tate had known Kya since she was little he played with her brother Jodie. Tate thought Kya was interesting and felt bad that she could not obtain a proper education like everyone else because of the way she was treated in school and throughout Barkley cove an example is shown in chapter 4 “where ya been, marsh hen?
