Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, is a novel written by Lewis Carroll. The book is about a girl named Alice that falls into this magical place, called wonderland. While in wonderland, Alice faces the many steps of a hero’s journey. At the start of a hero’s journey, there is The Ordinary World. The Ordinary World in Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland , is when Alice and her sister are sitting under a tree reading a book. Soon after, Alice spots a white rabbit and starts to chase after it. Alice then falls into the rabbit hole chasing after the rabbit. That is the Call To Adventure. She then crosses through a small door to enter the rest of Wonderland. This is Crossing The Threshold because she is crossing into a different world. During a hero’s journey, the hero faces many challenges. Some challenges may include vigerous Tests, Allies, and Enemies for Alice. Her main test is finding her way through wonderland with the help of her friends that help her along the way. Alice also has many allies in her journey ranging from the white rabbit from the beginning of the story, to the Caterpillar in the middle of the story. Those allies help Alice in many ways ranging through the story. While Alice is going through these tests with her allies, she has to face her main enemy. The King and Queen of hearts order Alice to leave the Court. The King Of Hearts orders Alice to leave by saying, “‘Rule 42. All persons more than a mile higher to leave the court.’” (Carroll, 180) After The Ordeal with the King and the Queen, Alice then stands up to the King and Queen in Chapter 12, it says, “‘Who cares for you?’ said Alice, (she had grown to her full size by this time.) ‘You’re nothing but a pack of cards!’”(Carroll, 187) This is Alice’s Reward because she has gained the confidence, by standing up to the King and Queen. After gaining confidence by standing up to the queen, Alice is chased by a pack of cards. The packs of cards send her home in the lap of her sister this is The Road Back. Once Alice wakes up in her sister's lap, she realizes that wonderland was all a dream. This is evidence of The Resurrection because Alice has come home with more confidence than she already
