I chose the aphorism “Do as I say, not as I do.” and I disagree with this aphorism for a few reasons, but first I’ll explain what it means. “Do as I say, not as I do.” means that you want someone to follow your verbal instructions instead of following your example. One could argue that if you could be better off to listen to them instead of following their example, but if their example is that bad then why would you listen to them in the first place, so I am disagreeing as if someone respectable is making this claim. My biggest disagreement is that it seems hypocritical for someone to not practice what they preach. My example of this is Ted Haggard who led a church who had a strong stance against homesexuality and he had said not to be homosexual,
