What is a hero? A hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. There are many people who meet the characteristics of a hero, but Chris McCandless is not one of them. There are many reasons that prove why McCandless does not meet the characteristics of a hero and there is many other people who do meet the criteria of a hero. My idea of a hero is a someone who takes on large tasks and shows great bravery in his/her character.
Heros’ come in many shapes and forms. Tall, short, small, big, anyone can be a hero, they just have to put in the effort. Though anyone can be a good hero, a great hero is somebody who inspires others, makes a difference, and is selfless. First and foremost, a great hero must be someone who inspires others. Ida B. Wells is an example of a true hero.
A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. In the book Everlost by Neal Shusterman the hero is a young girl named Allie. Allie shows many of the common characteristics of an archetypal hero. Although Allie may not have all of the characteristics, she has most of the important ones. Allie from the book Everlost is an example of an archetypal hero.
Have you ever been caught in a natural disaster, losing your home, place to work, or even a friend or family member? Today there is the Red Cross and other organizations to help people survive these events, but what would you do without them? Clarissa “Clara” Barton is a hero because she founded the red cross in the U.S., helped and risked her life in the Civil War, and served as a symbol for women’s rights and support for the oppressed. Clara Barton was the founder of the red cross in the U.S, and served as its first president. Clara had the Red Cross founded after visiting Europe for rest (Redcross.org), where a treaty was signed for the Red Cross to help anyone.
Think about when someone helped you in life and they always have a plan B if things so south, and they find ways to solve problems. A hero can also be someone who helps others with homework, helps someone carry things, or even help someone cook. A modern day hero is someone who helps our society, and helps other people when they need help. Or you could be a like Bella Abzug is an perfect example amazing because she helped the world. Bella Abzug is a hero to women by helping them with the rights we have today, she has overcome many obstacles, and she has made a difference in the world.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
Hero “Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary (Geraid Way).” A person who walks beside you on the sidewalk or smiles at you when you pass by them could be the hero that saves you when danger is present. A hero is an ordinary person who has extraordinary traits of acting quickly in a difficult situation, being determined to help any citizen in need and always steps up to help even if it means possibly getting injured. Heroes are people who will respond without hesitation when danger is upon them.
Their mothers are very cool because they are goddesses. Pipers mother is Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. Annabeth’s mother is athena goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. Because of their mothers the girls have different powers and ways of looking at things. Annabeth is very smart and is clever under pressure.
Heroes, they are people who help or protect others from danger or problems while sacrificing themselves. Heroes can help large groups of people or only a few specific people who desperately are in need of some type of leader to help their cause. For instance, Sojourner Truth is an example of hero because she strove for abolishment of slavery and having more rights for women. To first start the whole process of ending slavery and creating gender equality, Truth had to escape slavery since her father was a slave, thus having Truth being born into a slave. Escaping from slavery was a risky action to take considering the fact that Sojourner Truth would have been severely punished.
Hero’s are great and powerful people. A Hero is someone who is willing to risk their life to help someone even though they don’t have to. Ponyboy is an example of a hero. Johnny is also a great example of a Hero. Bob though, is the complete opposite of a Hero.
(Pearsall et al., 2014, parp. 3b). I think a hero or heroine is an individual who is caring, inspiring, selfless and who make a difference and sacrifices their time to someone else. However, the person that I call my hero does not have to be everyone’s hero, because everyone has their own personal preferences, values and opinions. Moira Kelly and Audrey Hepburn are my heroines, but I think Hepburn was more inspirational in bringing about change to the world.
What is being a hero all about? A hero is a person who is a brave, smart, kind and never gives up. A hero is a person who is willing to risk their life during deadly situations. Heroes are people who help other people. Being a hero means saving a kid stuck in a crack of ice.
Basically, a hero is a person who can overthrow considerable differences, defend their community, and show bravery, power and strength in the face of
There are various approaches to describing a hero. There is also an infinite number of individuals who can be defined as heroes. A hero can be a person who demonstrates valor. A hero can be a champion. A hero can even save a life or even mankind.
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live. In all honesty, a hero isn’t really what we think a “hero” is based on definitions and what the movies or even comic books have told us. Anyone can be
