Archetypes can be seen as a universal symbol, character, or even a setting, these archetypes are seen and read in books, as well as in plays, and movies. Perhaps the most archetypal situations are found in the Arthurian character list. Archetypes help show a meaning and identify the characters plot and function. This how we can also compare and contrast our foils and the foils for the Arthurian list are King Arthur as the “The Hero” and Mordred as “the villain”. King Arthur and Mordred foil because Arthur against evil and exhibits goodness from Merlin and Mordred is the villain because he feels that he has to go to an extent to expose and kill King Arthur. Mordred's traits are cold, vicious and is a person that is thrived by slander and slyness. Meanwhile King arthur traits are kind, understanding, a leader of many, a person who had a generous soul towards people. They’re connected by that fact that Mordred is King Arthur son in despite this all happened because King Arthur was tricked into sleeping with his sister (Morgan Le Fay) and Merlin had told King Arthur that his son was going to be the reason of his death and that he should do something about it before this prophecy truly happens, Therefore King Arthur sent every baby that was born in May out to sea to be drowned, the babies drowned but Mordred survived and was raised as foster child by a man named Nabur till the age of 14.
