In the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, the author exhibits bildungsroman throughout the novel showing, "what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime." The childhood of the characters are centered around the aftgan standard. Having hardships and adversity becomes the result of the way their society is shaped. Throughout Amirs childhood, he desires one thing, Baba's Affection. In order to shift his affection from Hassan to himself, he makes him out to be a thief. Amirs jealousy and guilt toward Hassan sets up his fate for the future. Sohrab, growing up the way he has, should be the most desolate character, but because of the cowardness actions of a boy, it turns out to be Amir. Amir's guilt is too much for him to handle, showing the reader he is the most desprate character, even though Sohrab is terrified of the world he lives in because of the things he has experienced. …show more content…

Amir has to reevaluate himslef when baba dies, leaving him hopeless and helpless. Amir wants Baba to approve his every move, which he struggles with after Baba passes away. Another pivital moment for Amir is when he finds out him and Hassan are brothers. It explains Babas releationship with Hassan and why he is so upset when they leave. It also explains why Baba and Amirs relationship becomes better in America. With Hassan no longer around, he does not have to face his guilt everyday. It also reveals that for the first time, Amir can finally see the similarities between him and
