The Civil War is one of the bloodiest wars in American history, but what started it? What did it lead to? In the book, “Two Miserable Presidents”, by Steve Sheinkin, the author explains events that led up to the civil war and how they were finally resolved through the leadership of Abraham Lincoln. Throughout the book, we learn about the causes of the Civil War through anecdotes and we learn “everything your schoolbooks didn’t tell you about the Civil War.” He gives a humorous 13 step guide in ripping a country in two and names each section of the book a with a captivating yet true title.
Joe Foss has great responsibility because, he always knew what he needed to be done. He was always thinking one step ahead then what was planned. Tom Brokaw wrote a book called The Greatest Generation, about all the war heroes that took place in WWII; one of them mainly being Joe Foss. Lengel carefully put certain timelines in the story to explain Washington’s life into chronological order. This is first directly showed in paragraph four where Lengel writes, “...which he experienced at Fort Necessity and the Monongahela River in western Pennsylvania in 1754-55,...”.
Chap 8: The Presidency Why did the Articles of Confederation intentionally have a weak Executive Branch? There was no executive branch under the articles of confederation. There were 18 men who served as the presidents of the continental congress. They had no actual authority in the government. He took a stand against a tyrannical leader, to defeat a corrupt government, to gain freedom, and liberty. When Simon Bolivar was a young man he traveled to Europe, to visit the ruler of Spain, Napoleon. Napoleon was a French military leader who had crowned himself emperor, and quickly rose to power.
As citizens we tend to elect our leaders, especially the president, based on promises, reputation, and life decisions. When voting for the next president of the Unites States we are simply voting for the person whose character we like best. Their promises and platforms reveal what they believe in and their statements and arguments reveal what they truly stand for. For the citizens of the Unites States character is a extremely important factor in determining who they vote for because character reveals the personality and beliefs of the president. However we must acknowledge that Presidents are also human and they make personal decision due to what they see best for them and not the rest of the country.
The citizens wouldn 't have the power alone to change the president. Therefore this was a negative in the Constitution because it did not allow the citizens their right to change what they felt was necessary. Another example of this inability to create change is the fact that under article 1 section 3 of the constitution the members of senate are to be chosen by the legislature every six years. The people have no power or say if they like their state senator. They dont have the power to change them if they don 't like what they 're doing.

The Changed Man Elie Wiesel wrote the memoir Night about himself as the character Elie Wiesel. He along with his family and many others were forced to endure the Holocaust. Wiesel and his father were separated from him his mother and sister at the first camp. They went from camp to camp with only one thought in mind which was not to be separated from one another. Not to mention, that in the end Elie lost his family and experienced/ witnessed many horrible things that changed him.
For instance, this people believe that some of the early Presidents actually abused their power and violated their rights. According to Document 2, it states "The Sedition Act was an attempt to silence Republican newspapers and their attackers on Federalists. Editors and publishers were fined and jailed for publishing "false, scandalous and malicious" descriptions of government actions and officials. The Sedition Act was a serious challenge to the First Amendment rights of freedom of the press and freedom of speech. " This shows how the actions of the early Presidents, in this case, John Adams, had a negative impact on the people.
