The memoir Night retells the experience of a 15-year old Jewish boy, Elie, who spends many months in WW11 concentration camps with his father, Shlomo. Elie Wiesel, before and during the concentration camps, is dehumanized.
Many Jews are dehumanized in the book before the concentration camp. In Romania the Germans start out nice but then they closed their synagogues and add some new laws. The first law is if a Jew leaves their house they would be killed. Then the hungarian police take all their valuables.
