Colin Kaepernick Kneels During Salute At Game. Colin Kaepernick a full time NFL player decided he wanted to Kneel during the national anthem because he was against the social injustice and racial profiling by cops in America mostly the cops in Colorado. Colin, who had never done this before or has ever protested against this before, sparked controversy around the country because people thought it was rude, controversial, a stunt and irresponsible use of his power with his fans. Since then Colin has joined protests against this and other big time and small players have since kneeled or sat down during the solute.
Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback of the San-Francisco 49ers, chose not to stand for the National Anthem at a recent National Football League game. Instead, he decided to express his unhappiness with the way African Americans are being treated by police, by kneeling to the ground. This was his form of protest and attempt to convey his message about how he felt. Kaepernick does have the right to not stand for the National Anthem, however, it is disrespectful. People fight for our freedom, so why disrespect those men and women and an NFL game was not the right time or place to hold his protest.
A controversial topic currently circulating throughout the media and society, is professional athletes kneeling during the National Anthem. In my opinion, this is a completely useless, unnecessary action done just for attention. The theory behind the action is supposed to represent unity. Unity is not achieved by causing controversy, but it’s achieved by coming together and supporting each other when times get tough.
The flag shows freedom and everything that everyone has done for us to be here to today. The national anthem is something you stand for, something that you should be proud of. Being down on your knee shows disrespect to the soldiers and to people who have done a lot to fight for our freedom. This might even make others think that they shouldn’t even be allowed to be in the NFL for doing something so terrible. The NFL does show a lot of religious beliefs with the players, and that’s one example why the NFL might cut someone for their
Everyone should show respect for our country wether they want to or not. Someone needs to stand up and do something about this. The National Football League thinks that it is alright to kneel during the National Anthem because they say there not disrespecting the veterans that proudly stand up to fight for our country they kneel because of Police officers treating blacks bad and to protest against the NFL’s owners and Mr. Trump. But kneeling during the National Anthem is rude and disrespectful because its meant to show respect for the people who fight for our country and who lost there lives for us to save
NFL Players Choose to Protest During the National Anthem America. The land of the free and the home of the brave right? Well, some people including many NFL players would argue otherwise. Countless peaceful protests have broken out throughout the country and many people are shocked at what NFL players are doing to demonstrate how they feel about racism and brutality against African American people. Players are taking a knee or linking arms during the country’s national anthem.
Also, parents are getting more concerned about their children getting to sucked in with the taunts and showboating. It is a problem that will never go away. The NFL is now stating that if you make a big play to spin the ball on the ground in celebration can result in a 15-yard penalty. Cam newton also almost got a fine because of his rude and disrespectful behavior.
The NFL is corrupt from the top and could care less about their players or their image because The NFL targets players after a good play or game to get them for PED use. , They are not consistent in the suspension of players for similar actions or non-actions, and The NFL is suspending players that have been cleared of wrongdoing in a court of law. Over the last decade players and the NFL have been scrutinized due to their handling of player misconduct and the leagues response to such misconduct. Such as in 2014 When Baltimore Ravens Running back Ray Rice was arrested after it was caught on tape him knocking out his fiancee in an elevator. The NFl’s response was to Suspend Mr. Rice for two games of the following season.
In today’s modern NFL, many players take a knee during the national anthem. My question is why didn’t they get kicked out of the league like Collin Kapernick? Our president, Donald Trump states that, “NFL owners should fire players who
The United States is not living up to its ideals of freedom, liberty, and justice for all no matter their race. Athletes are bringing awareness by a peaceful protest, which is protected under the first amendment for those who are oppressed. My cousin, a veteran, has also influenced my view on this situation. Seeing my own family member put their life in danger to save millions of others does not add up to someone kneeling on the sideline during the National Anthem.
Overall, I support the NFL players they are focusing on the bigger issue that is in America. Everyone knows it, but does anyone else do something no. Many people are scared to use their voice because of the repercussions that occur. Our society needs to keep changing to satisfy all ethnicities and gender in our community.
The United States stands as a country that represents freedom, justice, and rights given to the people. Recently, the President has publicly shamed players for refusing to stand during the National Anthem prior to their games. The National Football League has never had relations with presidential authority which gives President Trump no say in how this matter is handled. The NFL players are using their fame and platform to be the voice of many people in the country who share the same belief. Our country should stand as a free and equal place for anyone despite race, color, or gender.
For example, in 2017 NFL players are kneeling during the national anthem and has received a lot of
During the first three preseason games of the 2016 NFL season, Colin Kaepernick formerly quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers sat through the national anthem in protest of police brutality towards African American individuals. When asked about it, Kaepernick said, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of colour.” News outlets immediately attacked
The flag protest generates conversation and awareness about topic. "In a situation like that, people are seeing it. We can report it”(“If there’s protest, NBC…”). This shows that if NFL players are doing controversial things that news outlets will report it.
