Equality in higher Education Over time all generations in the US have been in pursuing of happiness. Americans built what society is today with a common dream in mind “The freedom to pursue opportunity, and that through hard work, they can make a better life for themselves and their children”(better Life). In today's day and age this tradition still stands as the greatness of this country. Reflected in many ways, higher education is probably the most important aspect for the development of the country. Even though low income affects the poor, anyone can have access to college education, no matter the social class-different agencies provide support to complete the different study programs, and evidence shows that lack of and money is not an issue. Low income affects the poor. It is true that nutrition plays a crucial role in the development of the human body, “children who grow up in poor families are exposed to food with lower nutritional value that negatively affects students' academic achievement by adversely affecting cognition and raising absenteeism” …show more content…
The National Collegiate Athletic Association schools offer more than $2 billion in athletic scholarships every year, covering any type of college cost (NCAA). Another example is the Federal Perkins Loan which is a campus-based loan that is provided from participating schools from a limited pool of federal government money “The interest rate is fixed at 5%. The amount you receive is determined by your school’s financial aid office. This loan is limited to $5,500 per year for undergraduate students, with a cumulative limit of $27,000.” (Perkins). College is expensive, but the fact is most people simply do not take advantage of all of the financial resources available to them.
