Another example of Charlie’s hard-working trait is on page 215. On this page, Charlie promised his doctors and himself that he would get smart. Even though the results took time, he worked hard and did everything he could do to make it happen.

Brilynn Harvey Tancredi AP Lit 5th Hour Darl is not worthy of reader’s sympathy Societal view of mental illness in the 1920s often placed neurodivergent individuals into a box. A person was either “crazy” or normal and any attempted nuance was deemed unnecessary. Would you agree it would be horrible if not sinful to harm something good and innocent like perhaps a mockingbird? In the book To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee Atticus, the narrator’s father, says “Remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” (pg.119) when telling her what she can and can’t shoot with her new air gun. Scout tells us that Atticus never says something is a sin; so why would he say that maybe to teach her it’s bad to harm a good and innocent creature. Atticus’s quote means more than just it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird but that it is wrong to harm or kill something that is innocent and does only good.
One of the most common fears among individuals is the fear of dying. But what is it that makes us so fearful? Above all, people worry they will not be remembered by those who they leave behind. However, they not only worry that their memories will be lost over time, but that their beliefs and traditions will be forgotten as well. Throughout their lives, individuals tend to act a certain way to ensure their morals will be carried on, even when they are gone.
I have become more responsible and competent since my freshman and sophomore year. My first day of sophomore year, Ms. Thomas gave us a writing assignment. We had to write her a letter about our favorite book; I was so excited to write this letter. However, when I got my grade on my letter, I realized that I had used all lower case letters throughout my paper. After that embarrassing moment, I double check my capitalization always.

By providing tutoring assistance helped me understand that we all learn differently. I hope that all the students I tutored will continue to improve academically. While tutoring was challenging and required patience, it was a valuable rewarding experience.
