Your honor and ladies and gentlemen of the jury: the defendant has been charged with the crime of the alleged murder of Romeo and Juliet. The prosecution will prove that the defendants, Friar Laurence, and the Nurse are guilty of the deaths of the unfortunate lovers. The evidence will show how Friar Laurence and the Nurse took advantage of the situation, manipulated the lovers before their deaths, and remained silent during these events. Friar Lawrence was considered a holy man who can be trusted and someone that one can come to when they are in need. As I quote from his very own mouth, “Or by the break of day disguised from hence: Sojourn in Mantua. I’ll find out your man, And he shall signify from time to time. Every good hap to you that chances here: Give me thy hand; ‘tis late farewell; good night,” (g.33).This is when he is speaking to Romeo saying that if anything important happens corresponding to Juliet he will send a man to Romeo. If I may point out, he seemed a bit rushed for Romeo to leave Verona. Why would he want Romeo to leave at such a quick pace? The answer would be because he wants Romeo to see Juliet before Romeo must leave. It seems that when looking into this in more depth, Friar Lawrence had a plan already set in place. What I am trying to explain is that it is odd for someone to remember on the spot that they possess a type of mixture that lets a person to fake their own death. This type of plan would have taken time for someone to map out, come up with the mixer and then give to the victim. As well when trying to deliver the message to Romeo, it failed and that specific message contained the plan regarding Juliet faking her own death. Without this information, Romeo believes that Juliet has
