The definition of Friendship is; a state of mutual trust and support between allied nations. Another definition is someone who you can rely on to be a support. This is demonstrated by the Book ´The Outsiders¨ All the boys have a very tight friendship and can rely on each other any time. The theme in the ¨The Outsiders¨ is friendship; sticking together will pull you through life. The book ¨The Outsiders” is about teenagers that live in low income families. They stick together through the tough times that life brings to them, and they always treat each other like family. Knowing the danger that they put themselves into, they did it anyway… together. When they saved the last kid and the roof of the church was about to collapse DallY pulls Johnny and Ponyboy out of the Burning Church. To save them, even though he thought it was stupid that they saved the kids, he helped them to safety. For example, on page 93 Dally says; “ For Pete's sake, get outta there!” That roof is gonna have any minute. Forget those blasted kids!” And also after they saved the last kid Johnny want Ponyboy to save himself first, not thinking about himself; “ Johnny shoved me towards the window. “Get out!” I leaped out the window and heard timber crashing and the flames roaring right behind me. I staggered, almost falling, coughing, and sobbing for breath. Then I heard Johnny scream, and as I turned to go back for him, Dally swore at me and clubbed me across the back as hard as he could, and I went down into a peaceful darkness” This shows that Dally cared about Ponyboy because he wouldn't let him go back for Johnny and then put his life into risk. It also showed that he wanted to help Ponyboy because later we find out he only hit him because he was on fire and wanted to help him. Another thing that this shows is that Johnny really loved Ponyboy because he let that roof cave on him and wanted Pony safe while he would fight for
