George Washington used his actions and words to set his precedents and became the 1st president of the United States. Some precedents that he set were creating the first executive order, creating a cabinet and lastly vetoing the laws. He became president considering his great leadership and work ethic. George Washington wanted to make America great again. In order to do that he had to set a plan and go with it. George Washington was the first president who tried to have everyone join a “union.” His priority was to make sure everything ran smoothly, without any chaos. He wanted the presidency to have enough power in order to have everything effective immediately. Here are some presidents that followed George Washington's precedents.

Jefferson was the 3rd president of the United States. He was elected in the year 1800. During his 2 terms of being president he purchased the Louisiana Territory. In other words George Washington actually noticed him before his passing as Jefferson accepted his appointment from Washington to become the new nation's first secretary of state. They were very great friends, and hard working people. They worked together to keep the world a better place. Jefferson had a part of the Primitive Charter Congress being created by Washington. Jefferson continued the alliance that Washington had with France against Hamilton. He tried to work by Washington's wishes of keeping all alliances with France. Jefferson used his implied powers to do that. He had disagreements with Washington but they were great buddies, so he did not want his legacy to die.
