People are enormously influenced by foreign culture. Reality shows, TV series, McDonaldization refer not only to a cultural exchange, but also to an increasing transnational similarity.
Western innovations and ideas are seen as a significant development and they are really a way for the young people to expand their horizons. However, the enrichment of one 's own identity should not lead to the forsaking of national culture and traditions. I often see myself as a victim of Americanization. On the other hand, this globalization creates the fear of destroying the national culture and authenticity. Often the concept of cultural globalization is replaced by Americanization in a negative adjustment, because it is observed as a loss of tradition and national pride. With the growing influence of Western values, the fear arises that one 's own cultural and social values could be annihilated. Although all cultures are equivalent, there is a danger of cultural hatred.

Another negative consequence of globalization in culture is the transnational similarity, because it creates the risk of global standardization. People can recognize a cultural and consumption adjustment to certain patterns. These include, for example, cinema films from Hollywood, the drink Coca-Cola or standardized thinking models and customs.
Another major problem of globalization is that one 's cultural traditions have turned more into obstacles. Poor countries would also be forced to give up their own traditions to meet the expectations of tourists. The languages of some politically disadvantaged communities are dying out. So societies would have to fight for the survival of their own traditions, because globalization in this sense creates a danger of losing the authentic material of the cultural heritage. People nowadays have almost lost the idea of a real taste, because of the increasing influence of the fast food
