The story “The Red Umbrella” written by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and the photograph by José Hernández-Claire both have the same subject. That subject is Separation. This subject is a big topic in both the story and the photograph because it literally revolves around separation. Even though they have something in common; and in “The Red Umbrella”, the kids are being separated from their parents and being brought to the U.S so that they can live a better life and so that they are safe. there is also something different about the story such as the techniques that make it easier to show the subject.
In the satire, Animal Farm by George Orwell, the theme is that selfishness can lead to corruption. These bible verses have a correlation to the book Animal Farm like 2 Peter 2:19, Philippians 2:3, and Proverbs 29:4 The first reason selfishness can lead to corruption is in 2 Peter 2:19. “They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” My first piece of evidence is “Almost overnight we could become rich and free”.(p9)
Rough Draft In George Orwell's novel, he shows the harm inflicted by a corrupt government can make people disappointed and seem unfair to them because of corrupt leaders' actions that don’t benefit them. The animals in Animal Farm feel Disappointed and let down because of how they’ve been treated. Ideas that create a point to make it seem better for the animals when it’s not, make the animals mad and disappointed. At the beginning of the book, Mr.Jones is a drunk who often forgets to feed the animals and mistreats them. Later on, Napoleon becomes a leader and is disloyal to animals on the farm and manipulates them into thinking he's a good leader.
The story Animal Farm by George Orwell is about a group of animals who come together with the idea to revolt against their Farmer to create a better lifestyle after being mistreated multiple times. Throughout the story, various characters show the essential question of how we can determine when we are being manipulated. Throughout the book, the farm leaders lie to their comrades to either make them think everything is okay or to get what they want. Boxer does this very well when he tells the animals his opinion of Napoleon, in the text, it says, “Napoleon is always right.¨

It is in man’s nature to be greedy. Shown by the pigs in Animal Farm, the pigs’ greediness displays why the nature of humanity is evil. “The animals had assured as a matter of course that these would be shared out equally; one day, however, the order went forth that all the windfalls were to be collected and brought to the harness-room for the use of the pig”(Orwell 22). In this situation, the pigs are telling the other animals as all the windfalls must go to them or else the farm will not function properly. The pigs do not really need the windfalls in order to maintain the farm; they want it because of their greed.

Based on the action the animals have taken it is quite clear that they have rebelled against Mr. Jones and his alliances. Although the animals rebelled against the human race because Old Major convinced them that the humans are responsible for their suffering and labor on animal farm, the animals still have to endure labor in order for animal farm to stay on it foundations and remain viable. Also, because the humans surround the animals it might be hard for them to fortify themselves to continue following Old Major’s guidance before he died. At the start Napoleon and the other pigs strongly believed that all animals were equal and had the right to live in a place that took care of their well being.

“Animal Farm” by George Orwell, is a story to show how absolute power corrupts, just as Stalin’s power did during the Russian Revolution in 1917. In the allegory “Animal Farm” each character represents a political figure from the days around the Russian Revolution. For example, Joseph Stalin is represented by a pig named Napoleon, Squealer, another pig, represents Stalin’s propaganda department, and the dogs represent the Secret Police (KBG). Using the nine dogs that Napoleon raises (intimidation), Squealer (propaganda), and manipulation, Orwell illustrates how Napoleon was able to gain and maintain control of the farm. The nine dogs that stay by Napoleon at all times are useful for Napoleon to gain and maintain control of the farm because they scare the other animals, intimidating them so that they do not disobey Napoleon.
