Hate is a curse that destroys all things. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are on opposite sides of a grudge between two families, and eventually, they kill themselves. Romeo and Juliet fall in love during the story, but ultimately hate is the main factor that drives Romeo to kill himself. One reason hatred influenced Romeo to kill himself is Romeo's detestation for his name. In the passage, Romeo says, "My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself." (2.2.59) His name regulated his life and made him enemies with the Capulet people. His name got him into a hating and fighting lifestyle. He was born a Montague, which means he was brought into a life full of resentment and fighting with the Capulet people.
