“Beowulf” the epic poem shows characteristics of strength, bravery, feeling of respect, and loyalty and the use of kennings. The heroism in “Beowulf” really stands out. Beowulf stands up for anyone and protects his people from danger. In lines 53-56 it talks about how Sheafson led Beowulf to learn how to fight at a young age so when Shield is gone he will be there to take over.; this also taught him to have respect for others. Beowulf swims across the Brecca underwater to fight the monsters. Beowulf brought his best warriors to fight Grendel and they could not defeat them; but showing courage he fights Grendel with no armour and rips his arm off.
