It’s clear that a hero is someone who is courageous and compassionate in a time of need. But many people don’t know what it really means to be a hero. It doesn’t necessarily mean you can fly, or that you wear a cape. It’s your actions that represent your heroism within. And to be a hero is to act in any situation when needed. In a time of need, a hero will do all they can to help those around them. With those heroic qualities, the french girl in Night by Ellie Wiesel helped Ellie Wiesel himself recover from the beating he took in the treacherous time of the Holocaust. Though he never stated her name, he did talk about the way she treated his wounds with a wet cloth when no one else would help. She was a hero because of the risk she took helping
