In the book a Mockingbird is a sign of innocence and is the symbol for several characters. Including: Tom Robinson, Scout, Jem, Dill, and other characters. Harper Lee shows that the innocent doesn’t always get what they deserve, and they sometimes lose their innocence, but other times it can help them out in risky situations.

It happens to most people. A situation occurs in their life and they’re confronted by a situation that takes away the innocence. Innocence can get you out of some situations. If you really don’t know what’s going on you could do the right thing subconsciously not knowing that you’re helping out the situation. This happens a lot with kids. Since they don’t know what is going on they could say just the right thing to flip the situation. If you’re not sure what’s going on and you are neutral in a situation not sure what’s wrong or right you could help it out by just being friendly or getting everyone’s mind off of the situation. “Don’t you remember me Mr. Cunningham?
