The Ultimate Outcome of Joy When faced with the option, of the head or the heart, although answers differ, a common goal is to do whatever is best for the future of the individual. Leading with the heart is more effective because it creates better results with the outcome of a happy and fulfilling life. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, it appears that leading with the heart has risky outcomes, however, this is not credible because the characters were constantly drinking. In Scene 2 Act 2, Romeo and Juliet have decided to get married the night after meeting with one another, and are exchanging vows; “Th’ Exchange of thy love’s faithful vow for mine” (2.2.127). Drinking clouds people’s judgment, while when leading with the heart, one's judgment is still present to prevent poor situations from coming about. Similarly, leading with the heart leads to stronger results and the end goal of being happy. Romeo and Juliet, both died due to love and their hearts. When one uses logic, the goal is to make the process more steady, however, does the process matter if in the end, the result is poor.. Raidah S. al-Baradie believes that “Encouraging the heart challenges leaders to care about their people while focusing on the team's final goal: results” (al-Baradie). He goes on to say that “Leaders have a tremendous opportunity to expand dignity, respect, and value and legitimately make the world a better place” (al-Baradie). In addition, leading with the heart allows for a more fulfilling life filled with creativity, and increased mental health. As the Earth has become more advanced, society's knowledge and awareness of mental health has been heightened. Our head often leads us away from our mental health and often puts us on the path of stress and focusing solely on becoming successful by textbook definition. Leading with the heart puts us on an entirely different path of being mentally healthy, and therefore making better decisions.
