Judgement is a huge thing in today's society. Also, in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, judgment is also a big key in the novel. In the story, there is judgment and conflict between people of different races, people that have different views than others, and even between family members. In the book, there is a great deal of judgment between others of different races. In the story, Atticus Finch, a well-respected lawyer says, “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it,” to his daughter, Scout. In the story's setting, Lee portrays that discrimination is going on and judgement is heavy during the time of Atticus Finch and Scout Finch. It is true, you don’t know a person until you step in their shoes and go through the things that they have been through. A person can be completely rude and ignorant but you can’t judge that person until you know their story and you have been through what they have gone through to make them that way. I remember when I was pretty little I was being rude to my friend. I wasn’t meaning to be rude to her, but I wasn’t having a good day. My friend was mad at me, but she didn’t know I was having a bad day. I was upset and frustrated because my best friend was mad at me and she didn’t know what I had been through that day.
