The Great Gatsby is that it is simply about the death of the American Dream, but it is much more than that. The romances of George, Myrtle, Tom, Daisy, and Gatsby clearly show that when one is in love, rich or poor, they are often driven to act crazy and without forethought. The deep-rooted love and devotion of George Wilson for his wife provides a distinct example of love-induced craziness in the novel.
The director of The Great Gatsby Luhrmann conveys that money won’t buy you the things that matter in life like a happiness, true love or power; money will only buy you boisterous parties, expensive clothing, and fancy cars. They know that their true love liked parties so they throw huge fancy parties hoping that she’ll wander in one day.

The Great Gatsby is a beautifully written novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. As the novel analyzes the transition of love from the past into the present, it is made crystal clear to the reader that Gatsby's emotional state is out of step with time when he is reunited with Daisy in chapter 5. Fitzgerald has allowed the readers to understand the extent of Gatsbys feelings for Daisy through his use of characters actions, tense mood and diction. “In a white flannel suit, silver shirt, and a gold-colored tie, hurriedin. He was pale, and there were dark signs of sleep beneath his eyes.”

The Great Gatsby is an American novel written by Scott Fitzgerald. On the surface, the book revolves around the concept of romance, the love between two individuals. However, the novel incorporates less of a romantic scope and rather focuses on the theme of the American Dream in the 1920s. Fitzgerald depicts the 1920’s as an era of decline in moral values. The strong desire for luxurious pleasure and money ultimately corrupts the American dream which was originally about individualism.

In the book "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, imagine Jay Gatsby looking out into the water, lost in his dreams just like in Aerosmith's "Dream On." This song relates to an important scene in the book where it shows Gatsby's dream of the life he wished he had with Daisy, even though of the obstacles he faces. Meanwhile, Maroon 5's "This Love" shows the Tom Buchanan affair and how it affects his relationship with his personal life. The reason why I chose the song, “Dream On” by Aerosmith is because it relates to the scene of Gatsby on the sidewalk dreaming about Daisy. I chose the song, “This Love” by Maroon 5 because it relates to the character Tom Buchanan and his messy relationship with his wife Daisy.
