The actions of Mr Ross throughout the book represents the key ideas of manipulation and control throughout the novel. This can be seen many times in the book, one key example is the formation of The Wave, Mr Ross teaches the principles of power through discipline to his student, this was meant to be a way of introducing them to how the Nazi’s were operated.
