Can You Rise To The Top With The Rest Of Society?: The Great Gatsby Social naturalism/realism drives people in a totally crazy way that can affect other people based on how they think about them and criticize the different aspects of society. In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby, social naturalism/realism is seen and treated to a whole new different level that differs to how other people see and treat different people base of on how they belong to either a lower,middle, or higher class. First, Gatsby lived in West Egg, near Nick, but as Nick got to meet Gatsby more and more, Gatsby would tell Nick almost everything, even the story of how he was actually born. When Nick was around Gatsby, he would observe Gatsby in a way that he would tell him almost everything, but some things he had to figure out on his own. In one occasion, Gatsby had lied and told Nick the truth that his “...parents were shiftless and unsuccessful farm people-his imagination had never really accepted them as his parents as all. Gatsby tried to turn the idea around by forgetting that he had belong to his father’s business that he had and had not wanted to think about how the idea of him coming from lower class parents was true to his eyes, so then he came up with a creative way of inviting a sort of different name called Jay Gatsby. But then Cody had died, and Gatsby had started to inherited the money, which was twenty-five thousand dollars, and then that’s how gatsby had stayed with all of the belongs of Cody and had started to go from poor to being super rich and rising into high class society. When Gatsby had thought he had everything in life; such as the huge mansion, the love of his life--Daisy, and friends, a totally
