No one thought the Taliban would hurt a child but one day a man shot Malala in the head in her school bus while she was coming home from school. Thankfully she survived, and continued to speak out about her the right for girls to have access to an education. After the Taliban started attacking young girls, Malala decided to give a speech. She named her speech, "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?" Malala did not stand for such cruelty from the Taliban.
Strenght is a word that has many meanings and can be found in many ways. Melba Patillo Beals had to find strength while struggling through bullying and harrassment because she was one of the nine black members who attended central high school when it first integrated as the the first integrated school in arkansas. Protesters and white students would call her and the rest of LR9 names and tell them to go home and try to harm them. Even though they had national guards and different troops to protect them she was assigned a soldier named Danny , there were a lot of rules against protecion for the guards so there for There were many instances where their lives were in great danger. One day however, the school decided to go a day without any protection.
But, unconsciously, their eyes turned to Malala. "That's the one," the gunman said, looking the 15-year-old girl in the face and pulling the trigger twice, shooting her in the head and neck (Taseer).” She was hospitalized for several weeks, where she was fitted with a titanium plate to repair damage to her skull, and she also got an implant to restore hearing. When interviewed after the situation, Malala said that she “has vowed to “rise again”, and continue her fight on behalf of Pakistani girls and against the brutality of the Taliban (Herizons).” This attack may have been heinous, but thankfully, she survived, and it only made her stronger.
With bravery Malala was able to survive the impossible a gunshot to the head. “It was an ordinary day. I was 15 in 9th grade” said Malala (Potenza 8) in Pakistan where malala lives girls going to school was looked down upon in the community, she expressed her braveness by waking up every morning to go to school, something many people won’t do. After getting off the bus, malala was gunned down and shot in the head by two men, for pursuing her right to a good education. She was transported to a London hospital and lived another day.
In the article, “Malala The Powerful,” by Kristen Lewis, it states, “Who is Malala? One of the gunmen demanded….. The gunmen opened fire.” This means that the gunmen started shooting Malala and her friends while they were on the bus. One of the bullets went through the side of Malala’s head and nearly killed her.
Malala got shot In Birmingham, England, on June 2015 ( Yousafzai 1). As a young girl, Malala ignored the Taliban in Pakistan and ordered that girls be allowed to receive an education (Biography.com). Malala inspired many people by not quitting and fighting for her rights. Malala’s dream was to become an Education Activist, “In early 2009, Yousafzai began blogging for the BBC about living under the Taliban's threats to deny her an education” (Biography.com).
What is strength? Well, according to dictiobary.com, strength is, “quality or state of being strong bodily or muscular” or “mental power, force or vigor”. Both theses definitions are true in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men. Steinbeck states this by indirectly saying that, strength is essential to survival, although mental over powers physical strength. The first example of strength in Of Mice and Men is, physical strength.
At first, Taliban's purpose of shooting Malala was to admonish Pakistanis not to side with the government against Taliban. However, because of this event, Malala's story was world-renowned that while lying in bed, Malala received the greetings from many national leaders and movie stars including her favorite activist. Even the United Nations special envoy for education launched a petition that let all of the children have the right to be educated by 2015. Malala also reported that she could not smile and she needed operations to make her face restart working. In spite of this, her future was still bright.
The most valuable type of strength in a survival situation is mental strength. This is because how you think determines how you act and affects how you socialize with others. Also, if you cannot function mentally, you cannot function physically. Not only can these affect your actions, but also how you see yourself and view the world.
The true feat of strength comes from overcoming
Malala was standing up for the right for girls to get an equal education when the Taliban planned to assassinate her. Their first try was shooting her near her left eye on a school bus. The Taliban did not back down after Malala recovered. This time she was shot in her ear which sent pieces of her skull into brain tissue. Once again, Malala did not want to give up on education.
When she did that caused her to get shot in the head by the Taliban because she didn't agree with their laws for women's rights and their education. After she was shot, she was flown away to the United Kingdom where she was able to survive the bullet. Malala is a peaceful girl as before and she like any other girls except she has won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 in the United Kingdom after her and family moved to escape the Taliban. While Malala is out there helping to save the world only making it better place for them, the Taliban are out there in the world to make it worse with their laws. She still continuing speaking out for girls education.

Malala was living in war and was very paranoid, and also, When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, one girl spoke out. Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and battled for her right to an education.
