“Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely”
In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, pigs gain power and then eventually go corrupt. The statement “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” means, power can lead to many things but the one thing comes back again and again is it will always corrupt, unless you're jesus. when Individuals get power concentrated in the hands of one person they ted to become worse off than if they split the power up.
Napoleon, he started out with good intentions following old major's intentional plan. Some of the ways they tried to follow the intentional plan at beginning was having all the animals memorize the song and commandments. Another thing they did to show they wanted to follow old majors ways was by writing the commandments really big wear everyone could see them. They also started out leaving the house alone and sleeping in the barn but eventually the pigs moved up to the house disobeying another commandment made by old major. but eventually started following human ways and drinking alcohol. And changing the commandments over and over again

There are many events in the book which show that power corrupts. the first example would be when napoleon used his attack dogs to scare snowball out of position and got banished by napoleon, snowball was the good pig setting all the animals on the right plans of old major, and keeping everyone in line. Once napoleon was in complete control of the farm he could do whatever he wanted to.
