People are often judged and discriminated against solely based on how they appear physically. In much the same way, people can also be judged by the groups that they are unwillingly a part of, or willingly associate with. In both cases, the opinions and assumptions that are formed without knowing the people or groups are almost always wrong. A person can be so much more different than how they are perceived by others that it causes disbelief. These judgements cast on the groups are known as either stereotypes are misconceptions. A stereotype is a widely believed mental picture of a group that, while having its roots in some truth, is no longer true at all or only for a small minority in the entire group. Pablo recalled that during his times playing at tournaments, “I saw all kinds of people playing, a 12-year-old playing a 30-year-old, and the older dude was embarrassed because he was losing, and not on purpose.” It’s usually those two age groups that will publicly admit that they play TCG’s, most people don't because of the the fear being stigmatized. They also aren’t all lazy people with nothing better to do, the only reason tis stereotype exist is because people only ever hear about them, nobody cares about a regular person with a job and aspirations, they wanna hear about the lazy no-lifes. Despite how every players seems to sound the same, mumbling an unknown language of card descriptions, they do not all play exactly the same. On the MTG website, there is an article detailing the different play styles of people who play and their personalities, “Very few players fall into one specific psychographic profile. Most players have elements that overlap numerous profiles.” The article goes on to explain what a beginner player acts like, Not just little kids, but also adults can begin with just liking the strong cards and having a might makes right mentality. There are players who will strategize around traps and will plan ahead but still plays casually. The third type is the one who goes to the tournament, they might take it a bit seriously, but they still have fun with it. All sorts of people will start off in one of these different archetypes, and even mix more than one. Not just old men, but kids, teenagers, but people of all kinds of ages enjoy
