Stereotype: A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Stereotypes have been around forever. Whether it be the strong, muscular, handsome, men in the 1800’s. Or the popular, pretty, girls you see in school hallways today.They are all stereotypes. They can span from middle school hallways to office buildings. Like when you call someone a “Workaholic” because they work all the time.

I know I’m viewed as a weirdo. Or the weird kid that doesn't care what people think. Only because I’m different. When I grew up. I was told to “Not care what people think”. But, as I got older, some people's mindset changed. They kept wanting to be at the “top”. But to me, that still doesn't matter.

Well, news flash! That's a stereotype. I realize that's actually how it was in the 1900’s but nowadays, men and women are equal. For the most part. The pay gap is also huge because men are apparently harder workers. Because apparently, women don’t work hard enough. Even if the stereotype is correct in some cases, constantly putting someone down based on your preconceived perceptions will not encourage them to succeed. Instead, it will bring them down. Down so far that it may lead to depression, suicide, bullying, or bad grades. I remember in movies when you saw the tables at lunch, where stereotypes were the reason that kids got bullied at lunch. They scared me. That I was going to be at the nerd or weirdo table. That I was going to be an outcast by the trash can. And I feel bad for the kids of today. WIth even more movies out, kids will truly believe that there is a certain table that they will have to sit
