In “Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare the characters are all about Trickery and deceit . I’m going to explain to you how these things lead to “death”, marriage, & romance. Some examples of trickery and deceit are when Hero is accused of sleeping with Borachio and her death is falsified. Another deceit would be Beatrice and Benedick hiding their true feelings for each other. An example of trickery would be when hero's death occurred Leanato asked Claudio to marry another in his family to make up for her death not knowing that the person he’s going to marry is hero herself.

He tries to break up Hero & Claudio by lying and telling certain things that aren’t true. The truth comes out when there are men loyal to Leonato & the Prince over hear Don Jon’s’ men talking about the plan to ruin the marriage & everything about Hero was a lie.,“Marry sir…they have spoken untruths”- Dogberry ( 5.1.225-226). When the criminals confessed to what they & Don Jon did they all went to jail. Around that time is when people found out that Hero had “died” and Claudio had to marry Beatrice. “ i cannot bid...and so dies my revenge” -Leonato (5.1.292-305). But at that time Leonato wanted Claudio believe that Hero was dead and that he had to marry Beatrice when in reality he was going to marry Hero. When Don John finds out about the wedding he says to Borachio that he will do whatever he has to to stop Hero and Claudio’s wedding and Borachio agrees with him. Don Jons purpose in this book is to try to manipulate and lie to get the things that he wants no matter the cost or who gets hurt in the process.
Lastly, Manipulation leads to romance is with Benedick and Beatrice… When they first meet they did not like each other at all. They constantly talked shit back and forth. Until their peers got tired of it & said that they belong together. So what they did was
