Truth of the Odyssey
In the book The Odyssey, there is a hero, Odysseus. He was a great leader and was very strong. There are many truths in the book including the beliefs and geography. This makes the story more interesting because it makes the reader feel like they can experience this themselves. Majority of people are more interested if it was real just because of this. The Odyssey took place in Ithaca which has proof that Odysseus was there and had his voyage to get home. This evidence has been proven by many experts. Many claim The Odyssey is not true because Cyclops aren’t real. There is a medical condition called Cyclopia, also called synophthalmia, characterized by the presence of one eye in the middle of the head, in the place where the nose would be placed. Although they are unlikely to survive, there is a possibility of surviving. Just because people think it is impossible, it can’t happen at all. Also, there was a instance where a baby in India was born with Cyclopia and lived for a week after dying from fatigue.
